about us

ZamCog (Zambia Coordinating Group) is a committee of educators, parents and Brothers of the Sacred Heart who share a passion to protect and care for vulnerable children in Africa. ZamCog was established in 2004 to help fund and support two Zambian schools: Shitima Community School in Kabwe and St. Francis Secondary School in Malole. These schools welcome boys and girls of all faith traditions into a stable and caring environment in which diversity, mutual respect, self-discipline and personal achievement are valued.

Shitima School provides education, shelter and daily meals to orphans, former street kids and other vulnerable children who would otherwise live in great deprivation. Currently there are 165 pupils at Shitima School, with plans to increase the student roll as new facilities are constructed.

An international community of educators, the Brothers of the Sacred Heart sponsor St Columba's College in St Albans, Hertfordshire. They have educated young people in Zambia - formerly Northern Rhodesia - since 1956.
