Make sure you book your training days now – you’re going to need it!!

Friday 27th August

Depart London Heathrow for Johannesburg, South Africa.

Saturday 28th August

Arrive Johannesburg and take domestic transfer to East London where you settle in to the Blue Lagoon Hotel in Beacon Bay. The hotel overlooks the site where the Nahoon river meets the warm Indian ocean and is located in a beautiful site surrounded by indigenous, sub tropical foliage. After a brief introduction to your team you’ll meet your trusty Honda CRF230 and enjoy a basic practice ride to preapre you a little for the route ahead. Tonight there’s a lighthearted but important rider briefing where you’ll be informed of important information on the upcoming days riding - this will happen every night of the rally from now on.

Sunday 29th August

Today is the first day of the rally ‘proper’ and is a relatively easy days ride, our first stop is the old forestry town of Stutterheim where if you’re interested we can stop by the awesome motor museum. We’ll refuel here before heading off to the historical village of Thomas river where the Enduro Africa team will have lunch prepared. The riding steps up a gear this afternoon as we tackle the first of the Wild Coast stages en route to the Morgan’s Bay Hotel: A very popular destination on all the Enduro Africa adventures.

Monday 30th August

Today Enduro Africa starts to reveal itself with a thrilling and demanding day of just 40kms, don’t be fooled by the distance though today is technical and enthralling, riding very slowly we’ll spend a lot of time working out the best way round, over or under obstacles and your body will ache tomorrow! Enjoy a gorgeous ride up the coast past the Jacaranda shipwreck before taking the ferry across the mighty Kei river to the Trennaries hotel at Qolora Mouth, treasure these moments as rides like today don’t happen very often. Today you will do things on a motorcycle you never thought possible. All in all a great way to learn about yourself.

Tuesday 31st August

Today is a major test as we tackle the Kobonqaba river and the cebe valley on our way north to the popular Kob Inn hotel. The wonderful Mazeppa forest waits for us en route but the challenge this poses is nothing compared to what you are all about to embark on: The mighty Qora gorge sees us tackle a 1000 ft descent and a rocky climb that will test you in many ways, physically, psychologically and emotionally. The sense of achievement and pure adrenalin rush you feel on completion of this stage is indescribable. The setting of the Kob Inn hotel at days end is quite simply staggering, nestled on rocks right at the seas edge with rollers breaking directly outseide the windows this is one of the best locations on the entire rally. You will be extremely glad to see the well stocked fridge, I doubt if you’ve ever deserved a cold beer more.

Wednesday 1st September

And breathe…Today is a REST DAY. Enduro Africa can take you to some of the school projects we support, you can go fishing, take a river cruise or just sleep very late, it’s your day and you can do exactly what you choose.

Thursday 2nd September

Today we fire the Hondas up early and head over the Black Tyre Road onto the magnificent Shixini point where we head inland down the beautiful Coconut hill - through the Qora river and its tributary the Mzimbi – onto the Mazeppa bay road where we take on a forest stage en route to the famous fishing hotel at Mazzeppa bay. The waters here are famous for Great White Sharks so don’t be tempted to swim! A tough days ride.

Friday 3rd September

Today is the day of water and is more suited to a boat than a motorcycle! One of the most enjoyable and rewarding days riding with 9 (yes 9) river crossings to overcome, there are options to go ‘mild’ or ‘wild’ today as we move inland through the village of Xora the terrain is extremely interesting and challenging, large rocks and slippery rivers sum up the day today and the ride climaxes with an emotional and heady finish back at the favourite Morgan’s Bay Hotel where we’ll party late into the night celebrating our achievement. You’ll have come a long way, made friends for life, challenged yourself in ways you never dreamed possible, but most importantly you’ll have helped save and improve the lives of countless children in Zambia. Well done Zamcog Enduro Africa riders, YOU MADE IT!!

Saturday 4th September

Hopefully you remembered to drink 2 litres of water with Dioralyte last night, and your ‘resolve’ hangover cure this morning! If you’re one of the sensible few that did you can have the morning in real relaxation enjoying some water sports in the lagoon. Shortly after the bus will arrive to take us to the airport.

Sunday 5th September: Arrive UK
