Support
The Team
Enduro Africa is renowned for its support and the camaraderie that develops between participants and team leaders is legendary amongst previous participants. Just check out www.enduroafrica.com ‘experiences’ to see proof of the bond that exists between participants and team members. The South African sense of humour is rough and raw and the team leaders will do quite literally anything for you. They take their trip and your safety extremely seriously however, and the knowledge and pride they hold for their country and especially the Wild Coast is impressive to witness. Each team will be assessed in the run up to the event and various training days in the UK offer you the chance to practice – essential for any rider about to tackle the route. Teams will then be built based on rider ability and attitude. Enduro Africa team members are used to dealing with novice and expert rider alike and they are all aware of the importance of flexible ‘one to one’ support during the event.
The team is made up of expert dirt bike riders that have extensive knowledge of team dynamics and problem solving. Enduro Africa’s team includes well known faces on the international enduro circuit and are all well known competitors in their own countries and abroad. The team have ridden with the Enduro Africa event since 2005 and the organisers of Enduro Africa in the UK consider them ‘family’. At the end of the event we hope you do too.
Medical Support
Although we hope you don’t need it, riding dirt bikes on testing African routes is bound to involve a fair share of time ‘off bike’! When travelling in remote areas it’s imperative that we carry our hospital with us. There will be 2 trained medics on bikes following the group and a fully equipped ambulance backing up the riders. ‘Medivac’ helicopter support is also on standby. The pool of volunteer Doctors and paramedics that Enduro Africa has on call is second to none, the event is regularly supported by the cream of Africa’s healthcare pros.
